When the oil is hot, place the glazed side of the salmon filets into the hot oil. While the pan is heating up, use a pastry brush to brush the former skin side of each salmon filet generously with the glaze. Now heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the extra virgin olive oil. Working with one filet at a time, dredge both sides of salmon in flour, shaking off any excess flour, set aside. Then add 1/4 cup flour into a shallow plate or bowl. Once you have the syrup and soy sauce mixed, set it aside. Not to mention, that there are no additives that will change the taste or texture of the maple glazed salmon during the cooking process. Not only does the taste make a huge difference, but pure maple syrup is also thinner than store-bought, processed breakfast syrup. It is highly recommended that you use pure maple syrup for this recipe. Next, in a small bowl, mix together the pure maple syrup, soy sauce and minced garlic and stir until well combined. Once the skin has been removed, pat each filet with a paper towel and then season both sides with salt and pepper.
